NEOTEK was established

1971

National Technical University of Athens

The first Ultrasonic Non-Destructive testing unit (PUNDIT) of concrete integrity in Greece was supplied to the Laboratory of Reinforced Concrete.

National Technical University of Athens

The first and only Large Test Section Wind Tunnel in Greece was supplied to the Laboratory of Aerodynamics. The project was completed 1976. It is still in full operation.

1972

National Technical University of Athens & KEDE

The first laboratory Soil testing systems were supplied to the Ministry of Public Works / KEDE and to the National Technical University, Laboratory of Soil Mechanics.

National Observatory of Athens

The first Accelerographs in Greece were supplied and installed. These autonomous units could record acceleration on photographic film and were deployed at specific locations in Greece.

1973

IGME

Seismographs and Accelerographs were supplied to the Institute of Geology & Mineral Exploration for various research monitoring projects in Greece.

Olympic Airways

The first Nuclear Non-Destructive Testing of jet engines in Greece was supplied and installed. A powerful nuclear source enclosed in a special lead cabinet could be inserted in the jet engine shaft for inspecting the jet engine blades for cracks.

PPC

The first Strong Motion Accelerographs were supplied to the Public Power Corporation to be installed on specific dams in Greece.

University of Patras

The first Analog Computer was supplied. The ancestor of modern computers using electrical signals to simulate mathematical functions and solve problems that included variables regulated by potentiometers. Incredible calculating speed.

1974

National Technical University of Athens

The system for creating controlled waves in the wave maker simulator was supplied to the Fluid Dynamics Department of the NTUA.

1975

Democritus University of Thrace

A 500kN Servo-hydraulic Universal testing Machine was supplied to the University for testing concrete reinforcing bars.

1976

National Technical University of Athens

The first Scanning Electron Microscope in Greece supplied to the Laboratory of Materials Testing was unique as it could inspect specimens under tension, compression or bending.

University of Patras

The first Thermal Anemometry system in Greece was supplied to the Laboratory of Thermodynamics.

Public Petroleum Corporation (DEP)

NEOTEK undertook the supply of large seismic survey reflection systems for deep land petroleum exploration in Greece. The project was completed in 1980.

1978

Hellenic Army

Supply of Ballistic testing system for testing the production of ammunition and the upgrade of armaments.

1979

Airforce Academy

The first and only Gas Turbine simulator in Greece was supplied among a variety of other educational systems for hands-on training of the cadets.

1980

PPC

The first central acceleration monitoring system with a number of peripheral triaxial accelerometers was supplied and installed at Pournari Dam.

1981

National Technical University of Athens

First and only 6DOF Seismic Simulator (shake table) in Greece. The system was designed, supplied and commissioned by MTS, USA, in collaboration with NEOTEK, to the Laboratory of Earthquake Engineering, Prof. P. Carydis. The project was completed in 1983.

1982

UNESCO / NTUA

NEOTEK supplied and installed the first Accelerograph system on Parthenon, Acropolis. The system included a central analog recorder and a number of accelerometers deployed over the monument.

1983

ITSAK

Following the 1978 Thessaloniki earthquake, the Institute of Engineering Seismology & Earthquake Engineering purchased from NEOTEK and created the first National Strong Motion Accelerograph network using 50 analog accelerographs that were installed all over mainland Greece.

1994

Halkis Bridge

First Real-time Structural telemetry digital strong motion monitoring system. The system was developed by Kinemetrics, in collaboration with NEOTEK and included 48 uniaxial accelerometers and four interconnected central recording stations. It is still in operation.

CRES

First Dedicated system for testing wings of wind generators built by MTS, USA. The design and construction of the strong floor comprising of a matrix of 270 anchor points, a 13ton steel mounting base and a servo-hydraulic loading system was undertaken and installed by Neotek.

1995

Aristotle University of Thessaloniki

The First Automated Computer-controlled triaxial testing system was supplied to the Laboratory of Soil Mechanics.

1998

Ministry of Public Works

The First prototype computer controlled load calibration system comprised a number of calibration load cells ranging from 100N to 5MN was supplied to KEDE.

2001

EDRASIS

The first micrometric borehole settlement system was supplied at the Athens Metro line 2. The INCREX system provides settlement information with a resolution of 0.001 mm and an accuracy of ±0.01mm/m.

2003

Ministry of Public Works, District of Central Greece

NEOTEK delivered a complete Soils and Rock testing Laboratory in full operation.

ITSAK

NEOTEK supplied the first unidirectional eccentric mass vibrator for exciting and monitoring the behavior of structures.

2004

Egnatia Odos

ΝEOTEK delivered the first portable systems for dynamic structural testing of bridges comprising of digital central recording accelerographs cable-connected to 12 uniaxial accelerometers.

2005

OAKA Olympic Stadium & Velodrome

NEOTEK supplied and installed an Accelerograph structural monitoring system comprising of digital central recording accelerographs cable-connected to uniaxial and triaxial accelerometers.

Research Institute of Mental Health & University of Athens

NEOTEK supplied and installed the first Seismic Simulator for earthquake response educational purposes in Greece, aiming to the train young people on how to react to earthquakes.

2006

Suburban Railways

NEOTEK installed the first wireless system for structural monitoring of the New Suburban Railway Bridge over the Corinth Canal, using wireless triaxial accelerometer nodes and 24/7 real time monitoring capabilities, together with a complete wireless inclinometer and displacement system for the bridge and foundation monitoring.

A fully automated triaxial testing system for research purposes was delivered by NEOTEK.

2008

Natural History Museum at Lesvos

A Seismic Simulator for the earthquake response education of the visitors was supplied and installed by NEOTEK.
